ABOUT ME
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family of avid photographers, I loved pouring over all the family photo albums and watching the slideshows family members would put together. However, there was nothing worse to me as a kid (other than cleaning my room, maybe) than stopping what I was doing to pose for pictures!
My family members have always been great at documenting life – from everyday moments to family vacations. On the other hand, I had a difficult time, even as an adult, stopping whatever I was doing to snap pictures, despite the best intentions. Fast forward a few years, and I was asked to become an event photographer.
My reluctance soon wore off, and before I knew it, I was in love with the art form that had already captivated much of my family! My husband purchased my first real camera for me that Christmas – a decision he has likely questioned over the years since! Rather than being too busy to stop and take photographs, I was suddenly asking to stop and take pictures with a frequency that would annoy anyone less patient. I do enjoy reminding him that it’s largely his fault! I began photographing everything – from the flowers in my own backyard to all of the beautiful animals on the African savannah. When friends and family began asking me to take photographs of their families, I soon discovered that I love helping others capture their own special moments and freeze the seasons that fly by way too fast.
It is a privilege to be a part of helping people capture beautiful images that they will cherish the way I still cherish all of those family photo albums from my childhood.
